After opting out of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction, Ben Stokes is banned for playing the league for the next two seasons. The English batter can only be part of the auction and play in the cash-rich league once again in 2027.

England's Ben Stokes is missing from the long list of 1,574 players while former pacer James Anderson has registered himself at a base price of Rs 1.25 crore ahead of the IPL mega auction to be held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25.

James Anderson, the legendary fast bowler who retired from international cricket in July, has registered for the upcoming IPL auction. Despite last playing a T20 game over a decade ago, the 42-year-old has expressed a belief by registering for the league that he can still compete at the highest level .

Interestingly, Anderson has never competed in a global franchise T20 league, and his last T20 game was in 2014 for Lancashire.

Ben Stokes opted to skip IPL 2025 as the England red ball captain didn't register himself for the mega auction which is slated to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25.

Anderson, who last played a T20 match in 2014, has registered for the IPL 2025 mega auctions at a base price of Rs 1.25 crore.

Each franchise will be able to form a maximum squad of 25 players (including retained players), and a total of 204 slots will be up for grabs at the auction.
