Claire's, an iconic tween jewelry and accessories store, has filed for bankruptcy. The company announced that a handful of stores are closing immediately and hinted that over a thousand locations could close.

The Illinois-based company is $690 million in debt due to increased competition, high rent costs and new tariffs.
