Leases for Baltimore-area Party City stores will go to auction next month as the troubled, 40-year-old retailer shuts down.

Party City is going out of business. The party supply chain told employees on Friday that it was shutting down. According to its website, the company operates more than 850 locations nationwide.

Party City, which operates 10 stores in the region, is closing all of them, according to national media reports.
