Man suspected of shooting 2 Minnesota lawmakers is in custody after surrendering to police Vance Boelter was arrested Sunday evening.

A 26-year-old Omaha man was sentenced Monday to eight to 16 years in prison after he was convicted in the fatal shooting of his brother after a birthday celebration.

According to Minneapolis police, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on July 4 in north Minneapolis.
