NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WJAR) — New Bedford fire officials said a man has died in a house fire on Monday. The fire occurred around Cotter Street near Coggeshall Street. NBC 10 News observed black smoke coming from the structure.

A two-alarm fire ripped through a New Bedford home Tuesday night, injuring one firefighter and displacing five adults and five children, officials said. The firefighter was treated at the scene, fire officials said in a Facebook post.

Firefighters are working to put out a house fire on Cotter Street in New Bedford. The call came in around 1:15 p.m. Monday. The street, which is adjacent to Coggeshall Street, is currently closed in both directions.
