Tropical Storm Sara has started moving slightly faster after stalling over Honduras, drenching the northern coast of the Central American nation, swelling rivers and trapping some people at home

Despite the storm’s lack of a well-defined center, it will generate profound rainfall across Honduras, western Nicaragua, eastern El Salvador, Belize, parts of Guatemala and the Mexican state of Quintana Roo through Monday as it gradually tracks north.

Heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Sara caused roads to flood and a bridge to partially collapse in northern Honduras.

Wading through waist-deep water, residents along the northern coast of Honduras trudged through the streets on Friday carrying their belongings and pets, as heavy rains from Tropical Storm Sara caused widespread flooding across the area.

SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras (AP) — Belize issued tropical storm warnings for the Central American country's coast on Friday as Tropical Storm Sara stalled in the western Caribbean, dousing Honduras' northern coast with heavy rain. Sustained rain fell overnight in the Honduran city of San Pedro Sula, with no immediate sign of serious flooding.

Tropical Storm Sara continues to slowly move over Central America, bringing torrential rain that has led to catastrophic and deadly flooding and destroyed numerous homes and businesses.
