Former Tennessee softball infielder Taylor Pannell announced her commitment to Texas Tech out of the transfer portal on June 12.

Tennessee softball coach Karen Weekly slammed tampering in the portal the day after All-American Taylor Pannell transferred to Texas Tech.

Pannell’s exit comes after she was named to the Women’s College World Series all-tournament team along with teammate Karlyn Pickens. Following Tennessee’s final game in Oklahoma City, Pickens said she “adored everything about being a Lady Vol.”
