Live Nation Entertainment has unveiled plans for a new 50,000-seat stadium in north Toronto to host top global music acts. Rogers Stadium, to be built on a former runway, will open in June 2025 on former Downsview Airport lands earlier slated to host a giant film studio complex.

Live Nation has announced a major new venue dedicated to concerts in Toronto set to be housed at the former Downsview Airport grounds, with a name that will instantly ring a bell. Rogers Stadium, a brand new, open-air entertainment venue with a capacity of 50,000, will be opening next year, according to a report from the Toronto Star .

Live Nation Canada announced Thursday that it’s constructing Toronto’s largest purpose-built outdoor concert venue at the former site of Downsview Airport. The open-air facility, which will host up to 50,000 attendees when it opens next June, will be called Rogers Stadium.

Live Nation plans to build an open-air music venue with a capacity of 50,000 near Toronto's Downsview Park. Erik Hoffman, an executive with Live Nation Canada, said Thursday that the new Rogers Stadium will sit on the lands of the former Downsview Airport and will host its first events as soon as June 2025.

Rogers Stadium will be the largest attraction of its kind in the city, including the biggest venue purpose-built for music.
