After their upset bid over No. 1 Oregon came up short, Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football team decided to fire offensive coordinator Phil Longo. After leading successful offenses at North Carolina with Sam Howell and Drake Maye at quarterback, there was hope he could do the same with the Badgers.

They sit at 100th nationally out of 134 schools in EPA per play (-0.04), a metric that helps underscore their inability to generate positive outcomes under Longo.

Just one week after the Nebraska Cornhuskers switched offensive coordinators, the Wisconsin Badgers also changed play-callers. Badger head coach Luke Fickell announced that offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Phil Longo had been relieved of his duties following the team's 16-13 loss to the Oregon Ducks.
