Novak Djokovic earned his first clay-court victory of the 2025 season, defeating Hungary’s Márton Fucsovics 6-2, 6-3 to reach the quarterfinals of the Geneva Open.

GENEVA — Novak Djokovic finally won a match on clay this season, beating Marton Fucsovics 6-2, 6-3 in the second round of the rainy Geneva Open on Wednesday. Djokovic lost his two previous matches on clay in the European spring season, and his next opponent at the last warmup event for the French Open is one of those players who already beat him.

The Serbian star came from behind to win 5-7, 7-6(2), 7-6(2) in what turned out to be the longest match of the tournament, lasting three hours and five minutes.
