A suspect has been charged with assault/attempted murder after two separate verbal altercations turned violent in Beech Island, according to authorities. A Georgia lawmaker is trying to pump the brakes on a longtime police practice that generates millions for small cities off the backs of drivers.

The law would require federal officials to detain immigrants without legal status accused of theft and violent crimes.

The House passed the legislation last week one day after it passed the Senate, teeing it up to be Trump’s first bill signed into law.
