The Texas Rangers’ latest injury move is now official. Right-hander Tyler Mahle was officially placed on the 15-day injured list, the team announced Sunday morning. Mahle’s IL stint is retroactive to June 12.
Texas placed Mahle, 30, on the injured list with shoulder with shoulder fatigue. The right-hander is in the midst of the best season of his career as he holds a 2.34 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 77 innings 14 starts.
The Rangers are trying to keep pace in the AL West and got some really good news on a very talented young player
ARLINGTON — The Texas Rangers could use some pitching depth. The good news is it may be coming soon. Left-handed starter Cody Bradford and right-handed reliever Josh Sborz each threw live batting practice on Saturday at Globe Life Field, and each came away feeling good about their outings.
What makes this loss even worse is that on Monday, the team announced Eovaldi has been named the Rangers Player of the Month for May, a distinction voted on by media members and broadcasters who cover the team.
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Tyler Mahle could be held out of his next start after experiencing soreness in his pitching arm.
Left-hander Patrick Corbin (4-5) pitched five innings for the victory. He was chased with none out in the sixth inning when Ty France, Royce Lewis and Willi Castro each hit safely — Castro’s a run-scoring double — and Brooks Lee drove in a run with a groundout off reliever Hoby Milner to make it 13-3.
