CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state’s daily COVID-19 alert map indicates the spread of the coronavirus in West Virginia is as significant as it has been any time during the nearly 10-month pandemic.

Mingo County is gold or better for only the second time in the last nine weeks. Twelve of West Virgina’s 55 counties were red, another 15 were orange. Cabell County moved to orange on the map.
