Action News Jax is hearing from the family and a childhood friend of a soldier from Jacksonville accused of shooting his co-workers at Fort Stewart in Georgia.

Six soldiers were given the Meritorious Service Medal for their actions during the shooting at Fort Stewart in Georgia.

The five soldiers injured in Wednesday’s shooting at an Army base in Georgia are in stable condition, officials said.
