President-elect Donald Trump declined on Monday to rule out military or economic action as part of his avowed desire to have the U.S. take back control of the Panama Canal and acquire Danish-controlled Greenland.

Palm Beach, Fla. — President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday said he would not rule out the use of military force to seize control of the Panama Canal and Greenland, as he declared U.S. control of both to be vital to American national security.

The president-elect threatened to hit Denmark with tariffs ‘at a very high level’ if officials don’t cooperate with his bid to take over Greenland.

President-elect Trump on Tuesday refused to commit to not using the U.S. military to gain control of the Panama Canal, after vowing last month to take over operation of the key passageway. Trump was questioned during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago about his recently targeting the canal as well as Greenland for possible American
