A U.S. Department of Justice investigation has found Oklahoma City and its police department have discriminated against people with behavioral health disabilities

DOJ rips Oklahoma City police and says state isn't doing enough to prevent unnecessary hospitalization of people with behavioral health disabilities.

A report from the U.S. Dept. of Justice released Friday claims Oklahoma, and also Oklahoma City Police, discriminate and even harm people with behavioral health disabilities. The findings from the department were that people with such disabilities in Oklahoma and in Oklahoma City often face unnecessary institutionalization or even unnecessary force at the hands of the authorities.
