Former Mercedes engine boss Andy Cowell has been named the new team principal of F1 just months after joining the team.

Newly-appointed Aston Martin team principal Andy Cowell has shed light into a big organisational restructure ahead of the 2025 F1 season. Last week Aston Martin announced Cowell would be taking on the role of team principal in addition to his position as chief executive officer with immediate effect.

On Friday the team announced a series of moves at the senior management level, including the naming of a new Team Principal. Andy Cowell has taken on the role of CEO and Team Principal with “immediate effect,” and former Team Principal Mike Krack has been moved into a trackside role, with the title of Chief Trackside Officer.

Haas have suffered a major loss after a rival Formula 1 team have poached one of their staff members in a new signing. The American team will field a brand new driver lineup in 2025, following the exit of Nico Hulkenberg and the axing of Kevin Magnussen.
