Liverpool have tabled a new record £113 million offer for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz as the Premier League champions aim to issue a major statement of intent.

It has already been a long summer for Liverpool - who have been involved in three transfer sagas. The only saga resolved out of three has seen Trent Alexander-Arnold wave an emotional goodbye to the Reds as he moved to Real Madrid with his contract up at the end of the move.
