Hezbollah is considering a US-Israeli ceasefire proposal, sources told CNN, as diplomatic efforts to end the conflict between Israel and the Lebanese militant group intensify.

Iran backs any decision taken by Lebanon in talks to secure a ceasefire with Israel, a senior Iranian official said on Friday, signalling Tehran wants to see an end to a conflict that has dealt heavy blows to its Lebanese ally Hezbollah.

At least four Lebanese paramedics were among six killed in an Israeli strike on a civil defence centre in the country’s south while at least eight others, including five women, were killed and 27 wounded in a strike on Baalbek city, the health ministry reports.
