One such handheld has my attention most, and it's the successor to the 2023 Lenovo Legion Go. All but a mere prototype at this stage, shown very briefly at CES 2025, the new and improved hardware aims to attract a wider customer base with elegant design changes and slightly beefier internals.

The Lenovo Legion Go was already the heaviest compared to competitors like the Asus ROG Ally (1.34 pounds) and MSI Claw (1.49 pounds), so it is worrying for it to increase its weight so drastically.

The new Legion Go S begins with the stunning 8-inch WQXGA LCD display, boasting a 1920 x 1200p resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and VVR support. While the controller layout remains mostly unchanged, this version opts for a non-detachable design, a few missing buttons under the left D-pad, and features a smaller touchpad.
