The New York Rangers scored six goals in the third period to defeat the New York Islanders 6-4 in a preseason game at Madison Square Garden.

Rangers forward Artemi Panarin and defenceman Ryan Lindgren both exited Tuesday’s game early after they sustained a lower-body and upper-body injury respectively.

The Islanders continue preseason action with a matchup against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night. The Isles opened the preseason with a 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils on Sunday night, but are expected to ice a relatively different lineup compared to the opening preseason matchup.
