Teamsters have alleged that their decision to strike on July 1 was caused by Republic Services’ refusal to agree to pay them the same wages and benefits as other competitor trash companies. Republic Services has denied those claims.

Republic Services and Teamsters union workers will meet with a federal mediator Friday as the contract standoff enters its 11th day.

As of right now, those impacted by the strike will have to wait a little longer for their trash to be collected.
