Rishabh Pant was one of the main highlights of the previous edition as he returned to competitive cricket after recovering from the horrific car crash back in December 2022.

A post on X claimed that Pant, the current captain of IPL team Delhi Capitals (DC), had approached the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a bid to join them as their skipper, foreseeing a 'captaincy vacancy' in the team.

After the completion of the 2024 edition of the tournament, there were talks of Rishabh Pant switching to Chennai Super Kings for the next season. He was believed to replace MS Dhoni in the team but as per recent reports, Pant is deemed to be Delhi’s first retention ahead of IPL 2025 and will continue as the captain.
