Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies responded to an 11:08 p.m. iPhone crash notification I-96 just west of 96th Avenue in Crockery Township. Police found the woman lying beside her 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, which showed damage consistent with a rollover crash.

According to a preliminary investigation, the Kia was traveling west on I-696 when it drove on the freeway's left shoulder, struck a construction zone sign, hit the left wall, crossed all the travel lanes and struck the right-side wall before rolling over.

Investigators are waiting on medical examiners reports to determine if the driver was impaired or a medical emergency occurred

Vernon fire officials say crews had to cut the windshield of a car to extract a driver after a rollover on Bolton Road on Sunday afternoon.

The Indiana Fire Association said the crash happened Saturday at 4:30 a.m. on Route 22 in Armstrong Township. The driver was the only person in the vehicle but they were trapped. Firefighters said the windshield and roof was pushed down on their head and chest.
