Howard shared some memories of being brought in as a replacement director for 2018's 'Solo: A Star Wars Story.'

Among Howard's most recent ventures, the 71-year-old director entered George Lucas' sprawling space opera universe with 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story, replacing the film's original directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Speaking to Vulture, Howard opened up about the circumstances which led to him helming Solo: A Star Wars Story, after Lucasfilm decided to ditch the project's original directorial duo Phil Lord and Miller, of The Lego Movie and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse fame.
