The U.S. Department of Homeland Security accused Ozturk, a Turkish national, of "activities in support of Hamas."

Ozturk was suddenly arrested by plainclothes federal agents Tuesday in an incident captured by a surveillance camera.

The Tufts University student who was detained and briefly held in Vermont has a hearing scheduled with a judge in Burlington later this afternoon. A federal judge moved Rumeysa Ozturk's case to Vermont on Friday.
