All lanes of the Sunshine Skyway reopen after Hurricane Helene
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Sunshine Skyway Bridge reopened on Friday after Hurricane Helene caused dangerous driving conditions throughout Florida. The northbound lanes opened Friday morning and the southbound lanes opened around 1:15 p.m. Officials closed the bridge at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday due to high winds from Hurricane Helene.

The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is reopened Friday after Hurricane Helene brought strong wind and storm surge to Manatee County and Southwest Florida. Several other major roads and bridges around Bradenton and Anna Maria Island also remain closed.
