Kling, a junior who guided the Lions (33-23) to the Big 10 Tournament in May, became a 7th round pick of the Texas Rangers Monday on day 2 of the MLB Draft.

Penn State baseball outfielder Paxton Kling was selected 205th overall by the Texas Rangers in the 2025 MLB Draft. The junior from Blair County was rated by MLB.com as the best prospect coming out of Pennsylvania in this year’s class and the 162nd ranked prospect in the draft.
