A man who was fatally shot while sitting in a parked car outside a Bronx apartment building had been out of prison for less than a year when he was killed, according to police.

Police are investigating a fatal shooting close to the Bronx Zoo Sunday afternoon. The incident happened around 1:51 p.m. on East 182nd Street between Mapes and Prospect Ave, according to the FDNY. Police say the 29-year-old was declared dead at the scene.
