The 18 has more power than the Onan did, but with the mulch kit on my 48" replacement deck - I wish I had a few extra HP.

Aug 17, 2009 — I have a horse tiller, 1979 with a bad engine. I was at Harbor Freight and Tools and I saw a motor for under 150 dollars that is a honda clone. Has anyone tried to use this motor for a tiller? The shaft size is the same. I just wonder about the mounting holes. Since the motor is a 6.5 it will be a larger motor than the orginal 6.0 Any ideas? Thanks

The only issues I've heard so far has been the low alternator output, so if you run electric accessories you may run into issues. It seems to have enough juice to run the PTO but not much more.
