May 9, 2022 · I’ll try Overwatch or Battlefield and get absolutely destroyed online. I don’t think that I’m generally bad at video games, I’ve beaten most of the Dark Souls games, Castlevania, and Cuphead, but for some reason I just cant learn the skills for any First Person Shooter.

First person, most third person games feel more sluggish, probably as a result of having to animate the character in a somewhat coherent fashion. Also, Mirror's Edge proved you can actually have decent first person melee combat and plataforming if you adapt it to the perspective's limitations.

Population1 - for those still reading this is an exceptional first person shooter with a robust community and excellent game play in standalone and PCVR modes. Graphics are excellent but not emphasizing tactical realism.

When I first switched to PC from console, I had trouble with accuracy with the mouse. I eventually learned that it is much easier to aim with high accuracy if you lower your sensitivity. This tremendously improved my aim and I instantly became better at first person shooters.

Perfect balance of action, platforming and adventure mechanics, The reboot games are like M-rated Metroid Prime titles and I can see those two audiences actually having a bit of crossover since Doom prides itself on the player's ability to find secrets or extra lore

Also, are there any good Godot-specific or engine-agnostic guides to basic FPS enemy AI? I apologize for these questions being so vague; I'm pretty new at this.

I've played competitive FPS games for 25 years (started on CS 1.4), so the movement and view from first person is much more natural and engaging to me than being disconnected in a bird's eye third person. Ghost Recon Wildlands. Ubisoft open world stealth/action game. S.T.A.L.K.E.R series. It's like Fallout but much creepier & atmospheric.
