Just like Trane and American Standard are… There’s more in common between an Amana and a Goodman than a Trane and a RunTru, even though the RunTru has a Trane compressor and aluminum outdoor coil. When referring to the RunTru as plastic, please explain.

Apr 7, 2022 · The Trane installer disagrees, though. I'm also under the impression that Amana parts are cheaper and easier to get (US-based) vs Trane (Mexico-based). So given that price is roughly equal on the installs and both contractors do solid work (based on reviews), I would love some opinions on the Trane vs Amana conundrum. Thanks!

Jun 30, 2020 · I’m with this guy, however, typically companies putting in higher end units(the trane) do have better business practices. Ask if they use micrometers. If one, the Amanda installer maybe, has a shorter labor warranty period well, you probably know why. They’re are exceptions to the rule, but based off just model I’d be partial to the trane.

Jul 7, 2020 · I was quoted comparables for a Trane XL16 ($8375) an 18 SEER two stage 3 ton ($9775) and a 20 Seer Trane XLV Inverter ($11,980). He gave me the prices on the Amana as well but most of them were only $500 less than the Trane units. I know Amana has a better warranty ( lifetime compressor and heat x) but I know Tranes are supposed to be a top brand.

Trane 2 stage $10,600 Amana 1 stage $8,100 Amana guy also had 2 stage 18 SEER for $9,950 This is in Texas where apparently Amana’s lifetime warranty does not apply. Both bids are 10 year warranties. Trane bid does not include labor. Amana bid includes 1 year labor. Both installers seemed very knowledgeable and of solid integrity.

The other is $8,900, does not come with that warranty. I could also get a Trane for close to $9k. Is the extra money worth it for the warranty on Amana?

Nov 16, 2022 · Amana made/Assembled in TX. Oxbox in China. If that matters. Amana had been around a long time Oxbox not so much. Not a tech. Ask each about warranties. Some of the Amana units have warranties above and beyond the typical 10 years. Amana and Goodman are owned by Daikin. Oxbox is owned by Trane (but isn’t a clone of Trane).
