The Artists Gallery is operating as a cooperative, managed entirely by its artist tenants. Founded in 1989, we provide space for creating, exhibiting, and showcasing original fine art by local and regional artists.

Artists Gallery is operating as a cooperative and it provides spaces for artists to work, learn, teach, exhibit and sell their master pieces. Through this process it provides to the community an opportunity to take part in the creation of art.

The Artists Gallery offers many opportunities for local artists to develop talents and gain recognition within the art and public community through publicity and promotional efforts. Our group includes award-winning artists as well as emerging and novice artists.

Virginia Beach Art Center Figure drawing is not easy... practice, practice, practice... The group usually meets on the first, third and fourth Mondays of the month from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Thomas has fond memories of trying to learn how cartoon artists drew Mickey Mouse, Woody Woodpecker, Donald Duck, all images that would eventually serve as a foundation for a self-taught portrait artist carving out his niche in the burgeoning art scene of Coastal Virginia.

Just as in nature, my art and words might help someone to create something new-a symbiotic relationship, per se. What advice would you give to people looking to explore becoming an artist? The act of being an artist is allowing oneself to tap into the creative side of who you are.

The Plein Air League is a vibrant community of artists located in Virginia Beach managed by The Artists Gallery in Virginia Beach Art Center. The PAL is particularly known for its paint out schedule, where artists gather to create their works outdoors, capturing the essence of the environment in their art.
