Mar 10, 2018 · The Fender WRHB bass pickup is more like a giant PAF-style guitar humbucker with four mounting screws which either attach to the pickguard or to a trim ring (Starcaster bass for example). The baseplate of the pickup is wider than the pickup itself. A WRHB won't fit in a Gibson bass routed for a mudbucker without some serious re-routing.

Oct 21, 2010 · Differences in the new Telecaster Bass model of 1972 were readily apparent. Chief among them was the replacement of the small single-coil pickup with a large and powerful humbucking pickup. Staunchly single-coil Fender got serious about humbucking pickups in the late 1960s, hiring the inventor of the design, Seth Lover, away from Gibson in 1967.

Nov 13, 2011 · So, I was wondering if anyone had any updated (2014) opinions on the Fender Modern Player Telecaster Bass? I am one of those weird pick playin' punk rock bass players and have always been a fan of the bass player from The New Bomb Turks. He plays an old Telecaster, but mounted a very small mini looking humbucker by the bridge.
