May 28, 2021 · Razor: Henson AL13 Mild, Aircraft Aluminum finish. Pre-shave: Prolonged warm water splash or shower. Lather: Arko stick or Gillette Pure Shave Cream. Blades: Astra Superior Platinum. The Henson ships with Astras but it was my previously preferred blade. Aftershave: Cold water rinse then coconut oil balm.

Feb 28, 2023 · Kai blades are a tiny bit wider than standard DE blades. I liked this in my slant bar, but it changed the geometry of the the Henson AL13. The Kai was the first blade I tried because it was already my go-to. First Henson shave with an Astra SP was revelatory. Haven't shaved with another razor in 1.5 years.

Jan 20, 2023 · Medium is the way to go, use whichever blades you prefer. Mild if you have super sensitive skin or plan or shaving your head. I got the mild but wish I got the medium. I find myself doing too many short stroke passes with the mild to get BBS. I read the medium is more efficient while still being "mild".
