🌺 Pre-Analytical Case Study 11 : “EDTA-Induced Platelet Aggregation (Platelets clumping in EDTA Tube)”🌺 🌺Cause: 🔸Certain platelets are sensitive to EDTA → resulting in platelet aggregation in EDTA tubes. 🔸Usually occurs immediately after blood collection or within a few hours. 🌺Effects: 🔸Falsely low platelet count due to platelet aggregation. 🔸CBC analyzers may show Flag / Error: Platelet Clumping. 🔸May lead to misdiagnosis, e.g., Thrombocytopenia. 🥀Correction / Preventive Measures: 🔸
