In 1997 Titanic, large miniatures were used. A full‑ship “glamor” model was built at 1/20 scale, about 13.46 m long (44 ft 4 in). For the sinking / breakup shots, they made sections at 1/8 scale (stern/bow sections) to allow for more dramatic water effects.
